GENERAL

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness and product assortment is maintained in the Fresh Pack department. This person will ensure the efficient packing and fulfillment of Fresh Pack orders for stores, load pallets for shipment, placing orders with suppliers, preparing and verifying invoices and training new Fresh Pack Associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Ensures the quality and freshness of all Fresh Pack products and services provided by the Distribution Center
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the Fresh Pack products
  • Ensures the Fresh Pack department is cleaned daily and meets the company standards for appearance
  • Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
  • Receives, stores and stocks a wide variety of Fresh Pack products for the Distribution Center
  • Prepares Fresh Pack orders to be sent to the stores
  • Maintains items in Interscale
  • Communicates Fresh Pack price changes
  • Works closely with the Grocery Buyer
  • Pulls out of date product from the shelves
  • Organizes products on pallets for shipping to stores
  • Receives email orders from stores for Fresh Pack items, various labels and other supplies
  • Communicates with stores and Sales Directors regarding deliveries
  • Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Sets a professional and positive example to others
  • Communicates openly and frequently with Distribution Center Director, Sales Directors and Store Directors
  • Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintained
  • Teaches, mentors and educates associates to help them be successful members of the team
  • Provides honest, direct and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement; assesses associate performance and influences promotion, discipline, etc.
  • Promptly addresses and resolves associates’ concerns and/or grievances
  • Writing the Fresh Pack schedule to ensure coverage and meet labor goals
  • Quarterly inventory of all Fresh Pack products
  • Assists as needed to ensure the success of the Distribution Center as a whole
MARGINIAL

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

A high school diploma or GED preferred; 2 years warehouse or grocery experience; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Basic math skills
  • Understanding of product rotation
  • Must enjoy working with and handling Fresh Pack products
  • Must possess Harmons’ Forklift Certification
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with and manage diverse groups of people
  • Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team
  • Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and commitment to working collaboratively
  • Continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, forward focused and consistent
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable warehouse environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to cold, hot, slippery and wet conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries.

Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
