Retail Sales Associate - Part Time

About the Role

We are currently looking for the right Part‑Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The role is part‑time with an hourly wage of $14.00 to $17.00 per hour and a commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, providing an additional average of $1.20 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

We are seeking entry‑level, part‑time sales associates for our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to provide customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions, and assists with customer inquiries and problem resolution.

The position involves a wide variety of products including jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise.
• Performs sales and loan transactions following established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicates effectively the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, exhibiting respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Completes assigned training.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Willingness and ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness and ability to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
• Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
• May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Applicants receive more details during the interview process.

Payrates will not be below any applicable local minimum wage requirements.

All employees must agree to a binding arbitration agreement to resolve disputes.

Maximum base payrate is derived from the applicant’s previous experience and skill sets applicable to the specific position needing to be filled.
