Rehab TechnicianThe Rehab Technician is responsible for the full renovation of apartment homes, from complete demolition through final installation and finish work. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, efficient unit rehabs using pre-ordered renovation kits and established company standards. The Rehab Technician ensures all work is completed safely, on schedule, and to top-tier quality expectations.
This position plays a critical role in meeting operational turn timelines and maintaining the overall standard of the community.
What You Will Do:
- Perform full unit demolition, including removal of flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, appliances, trim, doors, and other interior components.
- Rebuild and renovate apartment units using pre-ordered renovation kits and approved materials.
- Install and finish:
- Kitchen and bathroom cabinets
- Baseboards and trim
- Interior doors and hardware
- Countertops
- Flooring
- Light fixtures and basic electrical components
- Plumbing fixtures and connections
- Perform carpentry and finish work to ensure a clean, professional, and consistent final product.
- Complete minor electrical and plumbing repairs and installations in accordance with local codes and company standards.
- Ensure proper layout, measurements, alignment, and fit of all installed components.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the rehab process to ensure workmanship meets company and property standards.
- Maintain established rehab schedules and communicate immediately if delays or issues arise.
- Identify material shortages, damaged items, or missing kit components and report needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout each renovation.
- Follow all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and property procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors, vendors, and on-site team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assist with punch work and final walk-through corrections prior to unit delivery.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Skilled in repairs – Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting, masonry, and carpentry.
- Knowledgeable about HVAC systems – Experience with HVAC maintenance.
- Effective communicator – Able to interact professionally with residents, coworkers, and management.
- Reliable and flexible – Available for emergency repairs and able to work weekends and evenings if needed.
- Ability to perform physical tasks – Able to climb up to 40 feet, lift heavy items, distinguish colors, and hear safety alarms.
- Collaborative attitude – Works well with others and contributes to a positive environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in facility maintenance
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
