The Response & Reporting engineering organization does not simply develop software; we architect the operational intelligence engines that secure communities worldwide. We build and maintain the mission‑critical platforms used by public safety agencies to orchestrate live incident command, manage massive ecosystems of digital evidence, process electronic records, and drive real‑time crime analytics. When seconds matter, our code is the operational backbone for first responders.

• Perform as a contributing member of an advanced software development scrum team using modern software development techniques to produce world‑class public safety software solutions in both on‑premise and cloud‑based environments.
• Participate in formal and informal design and implementation activities producing mission‑critical, real‑time solutions that will affect the public directly and may save lives.
• Develop requirements, code and create unit and other automated testing solutions for highly available and sophisticated enterprise level systems and services.
• Provide engineering management with accurate effort estimates for projected work and produce documentation including User Stories and Tasks.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with technical leaders in a multi‑team/multinational environment with teams spanning the globe.
• Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in the face of changing technologies, priorities, and requirements.
• Self‑starter, able to understand and verbally express software development concepts in a clear manner and through the use of reports and other written artifacts.
• Assist junior developers and mentor other developers as needed.
• Participate in code reviews and feedback.
• Work with support to resolve customer issues as needed.

• Software development experience (less for the right candidate).
• Strong background in modern software development practices, principles, and tools.
• Strong background in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, .NET Core, Java.
• Experience with scripting languages, e.g. Perl, Bash, Power Shell.
• Experience with RDBMS such as MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server and any No
  
  Sql distributed databases like Cosmos DB/Document DB/ DynamoDB.
• Experience with advanced debugging tools and techniques.
• Experience in Dev Ops practices and tools a plus.
• Working experience developing REST based APIs and implementing microservice principles and architectures a plus.
• Experience developing cloud based solutions in Azure a plus (other similar enterprise level systems may be relevant).
• Proven ability to evaluate software quality through the use of functional testing, load testing, performance testing and techniques like network tracing, threat analysis, penetration testing, unit and exploratory testing.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

Target Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $92,000 USD. Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
