Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. /Johnny B Transport is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona. IAS supplies and transports a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions to the road maintenance and construction industry. Idaho Asphalt Supply is seeking an energized and flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for experienced Crude Oil Driver in Duchesne, UT.

Position Overview:

This position reports to the Dispatch/Logistics Manager and is responsible for performing basic driving functions to operate oil/product tanker trucks, including crude oil testing, loading and unloading. The Driver must inspect their vehicle daily to ensure it is in good working condition and maintain logs of their trips and transactions to comply with federal or state laws.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Operate a large tractor-trailer or semi hauling crude oil safely from field to specified destination
  • Completes all paperwork according to company policies
  • Maintaining vehicle to comply with all D.O.T. regulations
  • Complies with all rules, regulations, and laws of the State, Federal, and other regulatory agencies pertaining to motor vehicle operation and used oil handling.
  • Follows all company pickup and pumping procedures, pumping on/off tanker trailers, drum handling procedures, used oil, and other general operating practices, emergency response plans, and safety procedures.
  • Reports all accidents, spills, and injuries according to SOP’s.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Possess a Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
  • Must be at least 23 years
  • Current medical card
  • Able to pass background checks pursuant to local, state and federal rules regarding transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Pass Energy Transfer’s D.O.T. physical, drug screen, and obtain a D.O.T. medical card
  • Communicate in English (orally and in writing), including proficient telephone communication skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of all applicable rules, regulations, and laws of the State, Federal, pertaining to the collection/transportation of used oil.
  • Be able to use a smart device to scan and email BOL and paperwork after each load.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Local candidates preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb in/out of tractors and on top of tanks.
  • Ability to pull hoses weighing up to 75 lbs. and move drums weighing up to 400 lbs. with proper equipment.
  • Must be able to sit and do repetitive hand motion continuously
  • Ability to get in and out of the cab 8 to 10 times a day.
  • Ability to shift a manual transmission and operate foot pedals.
  • Ability to open and close dome lids.
  • Ability and knowledge to perform walk around inspections of equipment.
  • Ability and knowledge to hitch trailer to pintle hooks.
  • Ability and knowledge to lift and install tire chains in inclement weather.
  • Ability and knowledge to raise and lower landing gear and operate 5 th wheel release lever.
  • Ability and knowledge to fuel, grease, and check engine oil, trailer hubs and tires.
