Summit Point Raceway Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and support the continued growth of our unique organization.

Located on our 786-acre campus in Summit Point, West Virginia, we serve a diverse portfolio of commercial motorsports clients and government training programs. This role offers the opportunity to oversee accounting operations for an organization with a dynamic mix of commercial business and federal government contracting.

Working closely with the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will lead the accounting team, oversee financial reporting and month-end close, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with GAAP and government contracting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and cash management.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS (when applicable), SCA, and government contracting requirements.
  • Support DCAA audits, government reporting, and external financial audits.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Develop and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff while promoting continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Three or more years managing or supervising an accounting team
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with financial reporting and internal controls

Preferred

  • Government contracting experience
  • Experience with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and SCA compliance
  • Experience with Unanet ERP or similar accounting software
