Admissions Specialist

The Admissions Specialist supports the enrollment efforts of the college and is responsible for all aspects of the admission process for their respective campuses, locations, and regions assigned. This position is responsible for providing guidance and ensuring each applicant receives the highest level of customer service during the admission process.

This non-classified position reports to the Director of Enrollment Services and plays a vital role to the overall success of the college. This position is generally the first contact the college has with prospective students and its principal responsibility is ensuring each applicant receives the best possible student experience during the admission process. This position requires considerable discretion and judgment to deliver appropriate services to a diverse student population and this includes having a general understanding of all functional areas of the college.

This position provides comprehensive customer service in a high volume, challenging, and fast paced environment.

This role functions as an admission specialist overseeing the overall customer service experience from acceptance to completion of admission requirements. The position primarily manages admission data and records to include reviewing admission checklists items and is responsible for data entry, scanning of documents and retrieval in the database.

  • Applicant Review:
    Responsible for the review and processing of all admission applications at all stages of application and admission process. Ensures application materials are received and authenticated (transcripts, GPA requirements, ATC/SAT placement scores, etc). Ensures accuracy of student files to minimize delays and resolves all discrepancies. Gathers and interprets applicant information to understand and evaluate individual circumstances. Ensures all admit decisions are in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures.

    Ensures all admissions paperwork requirements are accurate and complete and shared with Registrar's Office as required. Places admission holds on student accounts when required, works collaboratively with Enrollment Services on application withdrawals. Responsible for general admission communication to all applicants including notification of acceptance to the college.
  • Admission

    Experience:

    Ensures a positive applicant experience by maintaining regular follow-up with students throughout the process. Evaluates and mitigates any concerns by proactively working to resolve issues, connects and or refers them to resources through leveraging various channels including escalation to Director of Enrollment Services when required. Accustomed to engaging applicants through both virtual and in-person interactions. Leverages the college's customer relations management software (Element 451) to communicate and answer questions using multiple communication channels including email, telephone, and text messaging.
  • Student Support:
    Serves as first point of contact for potential students expressing interest in attending NRCTC. Responds to student inquiries positively and professionally within service excellence standards of 24-48 hours. Participate during new student orientation, registration day events, and other college wide events as assigned.
  • Data Analysis/Reporting:
    Prepares admission data reports, summarizes key findings and shares with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Compliance training is to be completed routinely and in a timely manner to reduce the chance of cyber security attacks on the college network.

Participate in additional professional development opportunities and professional organization affiliations.

Education

Bachelor's Degree
- Business Administration or related field
- Required

Master's Degree
- Preferred

Experience

In addition to the knowledge/education, the following related work experience is typically required, for this position. An equivalent combination of education and recent, related experience may be acceptable.
