Description
The Office of the Dean in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a (Hybrid) Grants Administrator.
About the OpportunityWorking within the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Research Office, the Grants Administrator will be responsible for assisting with daily pre-award grants administration services to members of the College. The position will include pre-award proposal development and submission of any federal or private funding. The position will include pre-award research administration, research development, communication, and assistance with special initiatives from the Eberly College Research Office.

- Assist with the preparation of proposals with varying levels of complexity from initiation through submission while interfacing with internal and external submission platforms, (such as WRAP) and online sponsor portals (research.gov, etc.), respectively.
- Help prepare grant applications compliant with agency requirements and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) administrative requirements and cost principles.
- Develop detailed budgets and their justifications for grant applications with optimal prospects for success and ensure that budgets are accurate before submission to approving agents.
- Assist in the preparation of current and pending and other correspondences from program officers.
- Provide professional technical writing review, edits, and/or proofreading for proposals.
- Conduct pre-award compliance reviews.
- Identify current agency funding opportunities and advise faculty and researchers on searching/selecting grant opportunities that fit within their research.
- Build and maintain expert knowledge of federal, state and funding agency policies critical for successful grant applications and proposal submissions, as well as institutional rules and policies.
- Advise/educate faculty on area of expertise as it applies to pre-award processes.
- Develop regular email newsletter announcements to be distributed to faculty and researchers.
- Assist with Research Office Outreach events.
- Assist with training sessions on funding processes, writing strategies, time management, technical report development etc.
- Assist the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies and the Director of Pre-Award Grant Services with other projects as needed.
- Coordinate newsletters, flyers, forms, and web presence.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of grants administration and/or grants management experience, preferably in higher education.
