The Role
We are seeking an efficient and reliable Lube Technician to join our automotive service team. In this entry level role, you will perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, fluid top-offs, tire rotations, and multi-point safety inspections. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, a basic understanding of automotive mechanics, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and cleanliness standards in the shop.
Key Responsibilities- Routine maintenance – Drain and refill motor oil, replace filters, and reset vehicle maintenance lights.
- Fluid Management – Check, top off, or flush essential fluids, including transmission, power steering, coolant, brake, and windshield washer fluids.
- Safety Inspections – Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections on belts, hoses, brakes, steering components, and suspension system parts.
- Perform work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards.
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain required parts.
- Notify service advisor if work outlined is unnecessary or cannot be completed within promised time.
- Document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and notify service advisor of any issues affecting appearance or condition.
- Maintain a neat and organized shop area.
- Maintain accountability for dealership‑owned tools and manuals, returning them properly and in good condition.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right‑to‑Know).
- Operate all tools and equipment safely and report any safety concerns immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience as a lube technician or related mechanical experience preferred but not required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
