Position Overview
To support the Summit Bechtel Reserve through exceptional facility care, logistical coordination, and residential services that enable safe, clean, and welcoming environments for all programs, guests, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Base Camp daily operations, staff supervision, and departmental asset management
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of Base Camp staff
- Set up and manage Base Camp HQ, seasonal offices, and Staff Camp logistics
- Maintain camp cleanliness, supply inventory, and proper waste disposal procedures
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper use of vehicles and equipment
- Support smooth arrival/departure operations and provide responsive service to all guests and staff.
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by S leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the S staff handbook
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to obtain Summit Driving Permit
- Required 2+ yr. leading teams, prefer 2+ Summit employment
- Preferred:
Scouting/Camping experience - Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Physical & Practical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing
: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp |
Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform |
Work Hours
: 45-55
