Sterling Industrial, headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, was founded and incorporated in 1982. Our company began and grew from a need for swift, reliable service for utilities in southern Indiana. Meeting the needs of utilities through small emergencies, we found an increasing need to add pipe fitters and millwrights to our operation, and from there our company continued to grow.

As a multi-craft union contractor, we provide civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical services for new construction and maintenance/retrofit projects. Our core markets include power generation, metals, pulp/paper, plastics, and chemical markets. Position Summary:

Scheduler is assigned to a project and reports directly to the Assistant Project Manager on all project related matters. Coordinates with corporate office for functional management. Functional management includes methods, best practices and long-term career development and personal performance measurement.

The project field assigned Scheduler is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the project schedule.

Responsibilities may include:

Administration

  • Perform continual updates in the scheduling software as necessary.
  • Provide input to the weekly and monthly project reports in accordance with the project calendar.
  • Attend and provide input to weekly production meetings, organize and manage progress and scheduling meetings.
  • Attend Client meetings as necessary, taking the lead on schedule matters
  • At project completion gather and report information necessary to provide a historical record at the project performance.

Scheduling, Planning, and Progress Measurement

  • Attend estimating turnover meetings and gather information required to develop the information necessary to create the project baseline schedule.
  • Play an active role in the project execution plan and WBS development to ensure that the scheduling efforts are coordinated with progressing and turnover systems completion and ensure that client and corporate reporting can be as efficient and effective as possible.
  • Coordinating with Construction Engineers and Craft Superintendents to identify schedule activities and logical sequence of installation; develop and maintain a resource loaded schedule,
  • Perform critical path analysis, resolve scheduling conflicts as they arise.
  • Monitor the schedule for delays, impacts and variances to the baseline.
