GLC Government Services is seeking 6 Dental Assistants to work a government contract at a Federal Correctional Facility in Bruceton Mills, WV
, a medium-security institution housing adult female and male inmates.
Location: Federal Correctional Facility, Bruceton Mills, WV
Place of Performance: Health Services Department at the United States Penitentiary (USP), the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), the Secure Female Facility (SFF), and the Satellite Prison Camp (SPC).
Pay Rate: $23.38/hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week, either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays). Work hours will be scheduled between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

- Minimum of 6 months of Dental Assistant experience
- Completion of a 1-year Dental Assistant program accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA)
- Current CPR Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC)
- Completion of a dental radiologic safety program or educational course preferred
- Experience working in a correctional healthcare setting preferred
- Additional professional education and certifications are a plus
- Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods of time (2–3 hours at a time)
- Ability to work with inmates from a variety of cultural, regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds
- Provide full-service dental assisting in all areas of dental clinical practice, including specialty procedures.
- Prepare treatment areas, dental instruments, materials, and medications for procedures.
- Safely and efficiently pass instruments while maintaining a clear operative field.
- Prepare dental medicaments and impression materials and pour dental casts.
- Place and finish dental restorations, including bases and liners.
- Select appropriate tooth shades for composite restorations and dentures.
- Perform all intra-operative procedures while following standard infection control protocols.
- Take dental radiographs and determine the appropriate radiation exposure levels.
- Process and accurately document radiologic results in the electronic medical record.
- Assist with patient dismissal and ensure patients understand follow-up care instructions.
- Maintain dental equipment and assist with repairs of dental prostheses and appliances.
- Properly store and maintain adequate levels of dental supplies in assigned treatment rooms.
- Ensure instruments and unauthorized items are secured and not left in the clinic during non-patient care hours.
- Complete documentation in electronic medical records and assist with audits and record reviews.
- Perform and interpret scheduled quality assurance testing on radiographic techniques.
- Properly contain and dispose of hazardous biological waste.
- Perform clerical and administrative support duties as assigned.
