POSITION: Extracurricular Assignment Elementary Alternative Education Lead Teacher Evaluated by: Director of Elementary Education LOCATION: West Teays Annex QUALIFICATIONS: This extra duty assignment requires a West Virginia Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate endorsed for multi-categorical SLD/MI/BD at the grade levels appropriate for this assignment (K-5). CPI Trained. Experience and training to work with at-risk students preferred.
SALARY: Hourly rate as submitted.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement appropriate lesson plans for multiple subjects.

Implement and monitor IEPs and 504s, as needed, and ensure that accommodations are implemented successfully.

Provide instruction to students through various methods of instruction, based on student need.

Enforce county and school rules and policies, assigning discipline as appropriate.

Maintain and coordinate records (attendance, discipline, etc.)

Coordinate efforts with the Alternative Education Program counselor.

Supervise students at all times in accordance with state and county policies.

Maintain a positive learning environment through effective classroom management.

Communicate with program administrator for serious disciplinary issues.

Communicate effectively with the home school and parents/guardians on a regular basis.

Provide consultative services to classroom teachers regarding the education of students as they transition back to the classroom.

Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Elementary Education and/or Director of Exceptional Education.
