Summer Special Education Supervisory, Transportation/Classroom Aide, IT Serving Cedar Ridge ESY
Starting Date: Immediately
Location: Cedar Ridge ESY at Cedar Ridge School, Williamsport, MD
Hours: 7:00 am – 2:00 pm (maximum 7 hours per day)
Term: Summer 2026 (July 6 – July 30 , 2026)
Days: Monday–Thursday (as needed)
Supervisor: Building Administrator
Job SummaryThe aide assists teachers in implementing the instructional program by working directly with students individually or in small groups, establishing rapport, and motivating students to develop necessary attitudes and knowledge. When assigned to a bus, the aide supervises student passengers, ensuring their safety and compliance with safety restraints.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials.
- Conduct learning games and activities according to established procedures.
- Maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Supervise and provide individualized or small‑group instruction to reinforce skills.
- Collect data toward student goals.
- Assist students with toileting and hygiene needs, including diaper changes when required.
- Assist with classroom and bus supervision, including hall monitoring, lunchroom duty, playground duty, and other duties assigned by supervisors.
- Attend in‑services and workshops as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional behavior in attendance, punctuality, and dress.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Criminal background check (per West Virginia Code).
- Demonstrated competency on state‑approved competency test(s).
- Minimum of three verified supervisory references.
- Knowledge of working with students with diverse needs, including special education and transportation.
Employees may need to lift and move up to 10 pounds, reach, stand, walk, use technology, and perform repetitive motions. Employees must maintain emotional control under stress and interact respectfully with students, staff, and the public.
