The Work Program Coordinator develops and oversees the in‑house work program n's, from job creation through the application process to employment and post‑employment support. The Coordinator also collaborates with community businesses and enterprises to secure off‑grounds employment opportunities for youth and monitors their performance in those jobs.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with Departmental leaders to identify skill sets, develop job specifications, and set compensation recommendations for in‑house youth positions.
- Establish and oversee the application process for all youth jobs.
- Assess job safety concerns and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide on‑the‑job guidance, direction, and support for the in‑house youth workforce.
- Offer job readiness guidance and vocational training for all Residential Treatment Center (RTC) youth, in partnership with teachers, permanency planners, and Youth Counseling staff.
- Act as the agency’s primary youth "Job Developer", creating relationships with community employers and matching job opportunities to youth.
- Maintain job schedules and monitor in‑house and off‑grounds job performance for all youth.
- Counsel youth and document outcomes accordingly.
- Develop and maintain an on‑grounds vocational library.
- Build and sustain strong, caring, therapeutic relationships with all RTC youth.
- Attend treatment meetings as required.
- Assist with departmental program activities as assigned by supervisor.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Direct experience working with troubled youth.
- Knowledge of employment, career exploration, and vocational training opportunities that support positive outcomes for youth.
This full‑time hybrid position is based in Far Rockaway and requires routine travel to other locations.
