Social Time Supervisor (Fixed Term)
Greenshaw High School is a highly over‑subscribed 11 to 18 mixed comprehensive secondary school situated in Sutton, South West London. It has a strong local reputation, attracting over 4,000 applications for 300 places each September. We are looking for a Social Time Supervisor (Fixed Term) to join the Social Time department. The successful candidate will ensure that students are supervised appropriately and kept safe on the premises during social‑time periods.

Greenshaw High School, Sutton. - Salary: NJC Outer London pay scale, points 3–6.

- Break: 09:55–10:15 – Year 7 & 8
10:20–10:45 – Year 9
10:55–11:15 – Year 10, Year 11 & Sixth Form - Lunch: 12:05–12:45 – Year 7
12:15–12:45 – Year 8
12:45–13:15 – Year 10
13:15–13:45 – Year 9, Year 11 & Sixth Form
Prior to the start of the break and lunchtime periods, Social Time Supervisors prepare the eating areas and ensure they are clean and tidy for the next period.
The majority of duty points are outside, so the role requires working in variable weather conditions.
Main Responsibilities- Provide general supervision of students during lunch periods in designated areas.
- Undertake specific supervision duties as per the day’s duty point.
- Prepare lunch areas before each lunch period.
- Ensure students tidy and clear up satisfactorily.
- Maintain sensible queueing arrangements.
- Manage student behaviour at lunchtime in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
- Collaborate with other school staff.
- Report to the Operations Co‑ordinator at the start of each lunch period.
- Inform safeguarding team of any concerns relating to safeguarding or child protection.
- Act as a professional and positive role model for students.
- Stay updated on role requirements by attending INSET, training, meetings and keeping abreast of legislative changes.
- Comply with child protection, equality, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection policies and report all concerns appropriately.
