Salary: As per Morgan County Schools Coaching Salary Schedule

• Professional Teaching Certificate or Eligibility for Coaching Authorization.
• Criminal background check pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A3-10, as appropriate.
• Ability to perform essential duties as described.

• Must be able to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, climb, use technology such as computers and multimedia equipment, and perform repetitive motions.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of materials.
• Vision requirements include close vision to read handwritten or typed materials.
• Work environment may be indoors in a gymnasium or outdoors with temperatures ranging from 20°F to over 90°F; noise level moderate to loud (60‑90 dB).

• Exhibits professional and interpersonal relations with building principal, athletic director, county staff, coaching staff, student body, parents, spectators, community, game officials, news media, and opponents.
• Motivates staff and players toward desired goals, commands respect, and follows all school, county, league, conference, and WVSSAC policies.
• Attends league, conference, and WVSSAC meetings if requested.
• Assists with implementing fundamental sports skills and sports management systems as directed by the head coach.
• Develops and implements high‑quality instruction, teaches fundamental skills, handles athletic injuries, supervises and disciplines teams appropriately.
• Designs quality organization of practice sessions, pre‑season planning, and game organization skills.
• Supervises managers and other support personnel, fosters a climate conducive to learning.
• Maintains equipment and follows end‑of‑season procedures.
• Provides leadership and support in planning, developing, and implementing instructional program as assigned.
• Assists in establishing and implementing improvement and communication programs and ensures professional work habits and continued skill development.
• Supports the head coach in all duties and fulfills responsibilities assigned by the head coach, including assuming the role of head coach if necessary.
• Completes training required by WVSSAC, adheres to Employee Code of Conduct, and performs duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
