HQ Aero is currently recruiting for A&P INSTRUCTORS
in BECKLEY, WV.
SUMMARY
A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) Instructor is responsible for delivering theoretical and practical instruction to students to prepare them for careers as certified aviation maintenance technicians . The primary goal is to ensure students gain the knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Curriculum Development:
Develop and update course materials and curricula to align with current industry standards, technological advancements, and FAA regulatory requirements (e.g., 14 CFR Part 147). - Hands-on Training:
Supervise and guide students during practical workshop activities, ensuring the proper use of tools and equipment and strict adherence to safety procedures and maintenance practices. - Assessment:
Evaluate student performance through examinations, practical demonstrations, and projects, providing constructive feedback and ensuring students are prepared for FAA certification exams. - Administration & Compliance:
Maintain accurate and detailed academic and attendance records for each student and ensure that all training programs and documentation comply with institutional and aviation authority standards. - Mentorship:
Serve as a mentor, offering career guidance and instilling a strong safety culture and professionalism in future technicians. - Professional Development:
Participate in ongoing professional development and faculty meetings to stay current with changes in aviation technology and regulations
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate required
- Minimum of three to five years of hands-on, practical experience in aircraft maintenance and repair is required.
- High school diploma or GED is required, with an Associate's or bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance or a related field often preferred.
- Strong command of both theoretical and practical aspects of aircraft maintenance, including the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and learning management systems (LMS) is required for administrative and curriculum tasks.
