Position: Assistant Director/Teacher Coordinator of Student Services (Anticipated Opening)
Location: Ripley

Job Title

Duties and Responsibilities Act in place of the Director in his/her absence. Provide instructional leadership for the Center in the development, implementation and supervision of post-secondary classes both day and evening. Implement a system of monitoring student progress. Assist in implementing a school improvement process. Establish good employee and public relations. Supervise and evaluate personnel as assigned by the Director. Maintain professional work habits.

Administer all financial aid programs for adult students including Pell Grants, HEAPS Grants, Worker's Compensation, Vocational Rehabilitation, WIA, TAA, VA, etc. Develop and implement secondary and post-secondary education curricula which reflect the most current educational research and practices and most current labor market trends. Schedule and chair periodic meetings with the principals and counselors of the secondary schools served by the Center.

Serve as Level I grievance evaluator. Supervise, schedule, evaluate and provide training for custodial and maintenance staff. Attend all Administrative Council meetings. Assume direct responsibility for implementing the RJTC Student Code of Conduct. Assist the Director with public relations, press releases, presentations, advertisements, etc. Complete and submit the IPED report annually. Serve as the Center's Title IX Officer. Investigate all charges of harassment and bullying and file a written report.

Supervise and coordinate recruitment for both secondary and post-secondary programs. Serve as intermediary/referral agent for students who have serious, urgent or chronic problems. Collect and maintain student data. Responsible for student scheduling. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications

Be eligible for or hold a valid West Virginia Secondary Administrator's Certificate and a Career Technical Education Administrator Certificate. Have a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience. Have a minimum of a Master's Degree at secondary level with training in administration, supervision, or curriculum. Have good evaluations and/or recommendations from professional associates, employers and/or supervisors. Exhibit knowledge of the job requirements of the Assistant Director of a technical school and have the ability to perform them.

Have knowledge of the field of vocational education through preparation or work. Have the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, media, and the business community. Have the ability to work cooperatively with others. Have the ability to supervise and evaluate personnel. Have an educational philosophy compatible with the Director and the Administrative Council.
