Assistant/Associate Professor of Business
The Department of Business at Concord University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Business at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, effective August 2026. Concord University prides itself on a 150-year tradition of preparing students to enter the workforce or continue their education through graduate studies. We are seeking highly qualified individuals to join our faculty who can apply their education and professional experience to instruction that will enrich our students, further Concord's commitment to programs of excellence, and reinforce CU's mission to serve the region.
This is a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position that supports the department's degree programs.
The Department of Business offers an undergraduate degree program with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, Management, Marketing, and Sport Management. The Department also offers a 30-hour MBA program, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management.
Primary responsibilities include: teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate business courses with a 4/4 teaching load, with primary responsibility for courses in management and operations, including Business Statistics and Business Analytics; participating in continuous improvement activities to strive to improve effectiveness of teaching and maintain currency of the academic discipline; advising and mentoring students, participating in curriculum review and development, and assessing and reporting student learning outcomes and accreditation-related activities;
conducting scholarly research and engaging with the professional academic community; and participating in service activities, including serving on university and departmental committees, attending faculty and departmental meetings, and contributing to the broader University community.
A Ph.D. or DBA in a business-related field from a regionally accredited institution is required, with a preference for candidates with a background in Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a closely related discipline. Candidates with a quantitative background or research focus are especially encouraged to apply. A doctorate is required for tenure consideration. Candidates holding an MBA or master's degree in a related field, combined with substantial professional experience, may be considered for a non-tenure track appointment.
Demonstrated teaching competency and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate business education is preferred, but candidates with relevant professional experience will be reviewed. Proficiency or demonstrated experience with analytics tools such as Excel, R, Python, Tableau, or similar software is a plus. Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Evidence of interest in programmatic research and/or a prior record of publishing, as we require and support faculty research productivity.
Understanding of course development to support evolving undergraduate and graduate program needs.
More than 2 years of teaching experience and more than 2 years of professional or industry experience in management, operations, or a related field is preferred.
