Substitute Teachers - MUST HOLD A WV PROFESSIONAL TEACHING CERTIFICATE OR PERMIT (New college grads are welcome to apply pending certification. We are not accepting applications for applicants without a teaching certificate or permit at this time.)

Salary Range:
Substitute Professional Daily Salary Schedule based on experience and education level per Putnam County Board of Education salary schedule.

Job Description:

The substitute School Teacher is assigned to deliver a comprehensive program in accordance with state law and West Virginia Board of Education and county policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Holds or qualifies for a West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate
• Successfully complete all initial onboarding paperwork required by the Personnel Department, including, but not limited to, completion of successful background check, drug screening, resume, letters of reference, past evaluations, and official copy of college transcripts.
• Must possess and display excellent communication skills, verbal, as well as written.
• Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality of student matters.
• Must possess outstanding organizational skills.
• Must effectively manage time and responsibilities.
• Must be professional in appearance, attitude and demeanor.
• Must adhere to guidelines established in Putnam County Policy 4.9, Employee Code of Conduct;
  Putnam County Policy 4A.2, Employment of Substitute Teachers.
