Part-Time Adjunct Teaching Position – Department of History

The Department of History at West Virginia University seeks part-time adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses either in person or online. Adjunct instructors will be responsible for delivery of course content, assessment, and maintaining an engaging learning environment.

Compensation is established on a per-course basis.

• Teach assigned coursework, preparing lesson plans and providing instruction both in-person and online.
• Assess student performance, maintain records, and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and inclusive classroom environment.

• A master's or doctoral degree in History or a closely related discipline.
• Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Doctoral holders eligible to teach graduate or undergraduate courses; master's holders eligible to teach undergraduate courses.
