Child Welfare Curriculum and Training Specialist

The Child Welfare Curriculum and Training Specialist supports Concord University's Research & Development division by coordinating, developing, and delivering training activities associated with Title IV‑E and Title IV‑B grants within the Social Work Department. The individual in this role will serve as a subject‑matter resource in foster care, adoption, and child welfare curriculum delivery, while also coordinating trainers, providing train‑the‑trainer instruction, and supporting grant‑related program operations.

This position is based on the Athens, WV campus.

No remote or off‑site work is permitted.

This position is a Concord University Research & Development (Research Corporation) role and is not a State of West Virginia position.

Employment is contingent upon continued funding from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources through the Title IV‑E and Title IV‑B grants.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Training Coordination:
  Coordinate and schedule training sessions, secure training locations, and prepare required materials.
  
  Manage data entry, data analysis, and website updates related to training activities.
  
  Maintain accurate and organized training files.
  
  Assist with the supervision of student workers.
  
  Ensure website content is current, accurate, and aligned with program needs.
• Curriculum Development & Delivery:
  Provide train‑the‑trainer instruction as appropriate.
  
  Update training materials and communicate needed curriculum changes to the Principal Investigator and Grants Manager.
  
  Coordinate curriculum development and delivery within Concord University and with partner Social Work Education Consortium (SWEC) institutions.
  
  Stay informed on evidence‑based practices, emerging trends, and instructional strategies related to Title IV‑E service delivery and child welfare training.
• Grant Support & Compliance:
  Assist the Training Manager and Principal Investigator with grant management, monitoring, and evaluation.
  
  Track and record training data for reporting and compliance.
  
  Prepare grant reports, program summaries, and documentation as requested.

Education/Knowledge

Minimum Education
- Bachelor's

Required Licenses/Certification
- Candidates must hold aBachelor's degree in Social Work or Education from an accredited institution.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of foster care, adoption, and child welfare systems

Curriculum development and/or instructional delivery experience

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive internal and external relationships

Excellent oral and written communication

Strong organizational and analytical abilities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Preferred:

Experience with Title IV‑E and Title IV‑B training and delivery
