Pre-K/Head Start Teacher 3- and 4-Year-Old Program
Job Summary:
Self-contained Provide appropriate instruction to Pre-K/Head Start students and ensure that the students meet the learning objectives and standards. Implement Head Start/Pre-K 3- and 4-year-old education activities. Observe, record and evaluate each child's growth and development for the purpose of planning activities to suit individual needs, interest, and abilities. Will complete at least two teacher home visits per year with each student.
Will supervise classroom aides, parents and volunteers. Attend all workshops, training, conferences and in-services for staff development when required. Prepare all necessary and required reports; implement and abide by Head Start regulations, Policy 2525, and Policy 2419.
Salary:
Base Salary $45,375 with a bachelor's degree. Pursuant to WV Code § 18A-4-2, in accordance with Monroe County Teacher Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education level, plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building principal/immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and MCBOE Policy
C.2.3, Performance Evaluation of School Personnel-Administrative Procedures.
Performance Responsibilities:
Appropriate certificate to cover Pre-K/Head Start. Early Head Start and Early Childhood. Responsible for planning and implementing WV College and Career Readiness Standards. Responsible for implementing adopted and supplemental academic programs. Responsible for implementing technology skills. Responsible for planning and implementing team teaching as appropriate. Be accountable for individual student achievement. May be responsible for planning and implementing designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs, awards programs and filed trips.
Strong working/communication skills with students, parents/guardians and peers. Willing to implement any other programs designated by principal/Director of Head Start for school improvement. Includes supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by Principal or Early Head Start Director.
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach covering Pre-K/Special Education, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2 Preference given to individual with training and experience in Pre-School Programs. Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate. Meet the qualifications outline in WV Code §18A-3-2a.
