Job DescriptionImperative Systems is currently seeking a Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Operations Trainer to develop, deliver, and manage a comprehensive C-UAS training program for Field Service Watchstander (FSW) personnel and other program stakeholders. The C-UAS Operations Trainer will be responsible for establishing standardized training curricula, conducting initial accession training, periodic recurrency training domestically and overseas, and ensuring all program personnel meet established proficiency standards prior to deployment and throughout their tenure.
The trainer will leverage deep subject matter expertise across networked C-UAS systems and components including: disparate command and control (C2) systems, radars, electro-optical/infrared cameras, passive RF detection systems, various other detectors and effectors, Environmental/Power Monitoring Systems, and Layer 2/3 Network Appliances (Routers, Switches, Firewalls). The trainer must possess the ability to translate complex technical system knowledge into practical, operationally focused instruction tailored to personnel at varying experience levels.
Employees can expect to perform international and domestic travel 30% to 50% of the time depending on mission requirements and training schedule. Travel will include both CONUS locations (primarily Summit Point Training Facility, WV) and various OCONUS posts.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a standardized C-UAS training curriculum encompassing initial accession (4–5 day course), domestic recurrency (2–3 day course), and overseas recurrency (1 day per person) training programs.
- Deliver CUAS 101 instruction covering the UAS threat landscape, basic principles of UAS system operation (UAS Kill Chain, Passive RF Detection, RADAR, Camera, System of Systems, and Active Signal Mitigation), and Operations Center conduct.
- Conduct hands‑on, system‑specific training on fielded C-UAS platforms including but not limited to radar, EO/IR, acoustic, and other sensors, as well as EW systems and effectors.
- Establish and enforce measurable proficiency standards ensuring personnel can demonstrate competency in system setup, operation, maintenance checks, log downloads, deficiency reporting, and C-UAS event reporting prior to deployment.
- Provide onsite training to end users on all integrated C-UAS systems at domestic and overseas locations, including “left seat, right seat” training in Operations Centers.
- Provide tailored training to DSS Special Agents, Regional Security Officers, Mobile Security Deployment teams, USMC Guard forces, and other partner entities on C-UAS mission fundamentals, fixed site capabilities, and tactical capabilities for static or mobile security operations.
- Coordinate with vendor training teams to optimize delivery and supplement vendor‑provided instruction with operationally relevant, program‑specific content.
- Provide remote troubleshooting, guidance, and training support to deployed personnel as needed.
- Support special events including recruiting events, trade shows, and demonstrations by ensuring personnel are trained and current on equipment setup, function, and technology explanation.
- Develop and maintain training documentation, lesson plans, practical exercises, evaluation criteria, and certification records.
- Adhere to program standards, standard operating procedures, and commissioning procedures.
- Complete required project documentation and ensure training records and as‑builts are accurate.
- Active SECRET level security clearance or higher required.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Possesses a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline OR an associate’s degree in STEM or Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) field with 4 years of experience.
- Must possess and maintain a FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot License.
