Position Overview

Assistant Professor (tenure-track) – Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV.

• Develop a highly productive extramurally funded research program focused on fundamental mechanisms underlying human ocular disease.
• Conduct research with strong translational potential to advance prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of blinding diseases such as retinal diseases, glaucoma, and corneal disorders.
• Engage in department and school-wide research forums and seminars.
• Teach undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional programs as part of the School of Medicine’s educational mission.

Minimum qualifications:

a PhD and/or MD plus three (3) years of highly productive postdoctoral research.

Expected to develop an extramurally funded research program and demonstrate an innovative research agenda with translational potential.
