Provide appropriate instruction to elementary students and ensure students meet learning objectives and standards for grade six.
Performance Responsibilities- Plan and implement standards-based curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives
- Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs
- Implement 21st Century technology skills
- Collaborate with special education students and teachers
- Plan & implement designated co-curricular activities and/or programs (e.g., curricular fairs, awards programs, field trips)
- Be accountable for individual student achievement
- Plan & implement personalized learning for all students
- Maintain strong working/communication skills with students, parents, and peers
- Willing to implement other programs designated by principal for school improvement
- Includes supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by Principal
- Certified by the State of West Virginia to teach Elementary Grades
- Valid teaching certificate/licensing to teach specializations and grade levels
- Criminal background check per WV Code
- Meet qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a
- Ability to perform essential duties including reaching, standing, walking, lifting, writing, talking, hearing, seeing, use of technology, and frequently lifting and/or moving at least 10 pounds of materials
- Capable of reading handwritten or typed material; close vision required
- Ability to meet multiple demands and interact with public and staff
Frequent reaching, standing, walking, lifting, writing, talking, hearing, seeing, and use of technology. Frequently lift/move at least 10 pounds of materials. Vision required for close reading.
Work EnvironmentIndoors with occasional outdoor settings for recess and field trips. Noise level low to moderate (20‑60 dB) with occasional moderate to loud in gymnasiums or technical labs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
