English Learner Teacher

The EL Teacher will provide instruction to EL students as needed during the school day. Write EL plans for students, monitor student progress, assess students, provide modifications for general classrooms, complete reports, and communicate with parents/guardians. Administer ELPA 21 Screener and Assessments. Flexibility in scheduling direct services is necessary. The teacher will report directly to the building principal and Director of Federal Programs.

Qualifications:

Successful applicant must hold a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate with an EL endorsement or EL permit. If EL endorsed applicants are not available, reading endorsement or graduate level training in EL will be considered. Experience working with EL students is preferred. Knowledge of appropriate teaching techniques and methods for teaching EL students, cultures, and the ability to work collaboratively with regular classroom teachers is necessary.

Salary:
Hourly based on daily rate of pay. Number of hours based on student needs, per student. Number of students vary per year.
