Job Summary
- The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Academic Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and evaluating academic support services that promote student success, retention, and degree completion. Working collaboratively with the Program Director, this position manages the tutoring component of the federally funded TRIO SSS program, providing academic support services for first-generation, low-income students, and students with disabilities. The Academic Coordinator oversees the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of peer tutors;

coordinates tutoring services; maintains program records; and supports student engagement initiatives in accordance with U.S. Department of Education TRIO program requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duty/Responsibility
- Tutoring Program Management Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate tutoring services based on the academic needs and learning styles of SSS participants. Assess student tutoring needs, coordinate tutor assignments, and monitor individual, group, and drop-in tutoring sessions. Recruit, interview, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate approximately 60 peer tutors each semester. Develop and facilitate tutor training workshops, provide ongoing guidance and feedback, and ensure tutors meet program requirements.

Coordinate with faculty, staff, academic departments, library personnel, bookstore staff, and other campus partners to support effective tutoring services. Maintain tutoring materials, textbooks, schedules, records, evaluations, and documentation required for program reporting.
