Extracurricular Assignment

Position: Referral Officer

Location: Winfield Elementary School

Evaluated by: Principal/Assistant Principal

Qualifications: The successful candidate must be a regularly employed professional educator at the school.

Job Description: In addition to abiding by established laws, policies, rules and regulations, the Referral Officer shall have the following extra-duty responsibilities and duties:

  • Provide due process forms to appropriate personnel as requested.
  • Complete and submit to the county office of exceptional education required reports, including but not limited to, hearing and vision referral forms, report of student transfer, Teacher Evaluation Report, and Parent Information Report.
  • Track referral from intervention to Individualized Education Plan Team (IEPT) decision.
  • Monitor the annual review of each exceptional student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Monitor Section 504 students.
  • Notify school personnel, parents/guardians and other appropriate personnel of Eligibility Committee (EC) meetings.
  • Ensure that confidentiality procedures are not c
  • Attend a minimum of two relevant training sessions annually.
