Position: IEP Case Manager

Qualifications: This extra duty assignment requires a West Virginia Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate endorsed for mental impairment, specific learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and/or autism or a West Virginia Professional or Temporary Service Certificate endorsed for speech/language pathology. Preference given to educators at the school being served.
Responsibilities: In addition to abiding by established laws, policies, rules, and regulations, the School Based IEP Case Manager shall have the following extra-duty responsibilities and duties:
- Act as a liaison between school special education teachers/related service providers and the Office of Exceptional Education, being the first point of contact for special education teachers/related service providers.
- Assist special education teachers/related service providers with IEP questions and amendment questions.
- At the beginning of the school year, coordinate with special education teachers to develop a staggered IEP meeting schedule for the school year.
- Review all IEPs, except for speech/language only IEPs, prior to submitting to the Office of Exceptional Education, IEP Diagnostician.
- Coordinate with the Office of Exceptional Education, IEP Diagnostician, to monitor timelines for Initial IEPs, Annual Review IEPs, and Re-evaluation Review IEPs.
- Coordinate with the Office of Exceptional Education, IEP Diagnostician, to assign new students to special education teachers.
- Collect and submit Extended School Year (ESY) rosters and ESY Reports to the Office of Exceptional Education.
- Ensure that confidentiality procedures are not compromised.
- Attend a minimum of two training sessions annually.
Supplemental Pay: $2,400
