Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher (ECCAT)
ECCAT Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher in teacher-directed instructional activities.
- Assist the teacher in classroom management, socialization activities, and basic living skills of students.
- Assist in administration of emergency first aid and provide assistance to physically handicapped children.
- Assist in other locations during other periods of the day as assigned by the principal.
- Perform transportation duties as needed.
- Independently lift and toilet children 50 – 150 pounds and over.
Qualifications:
- Pass background check.
- Pass the state competency test for aide.
- Demonstrate competencies in reading, writing, spelling, and mathematics.
- Demonstrate verbal and written expression and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrate the ability to appropriately manage young children through behavioral management techniques.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of first aid.
- High school graduate or received a general education development certificate.
- Complete Early Childhood WVDE approved course work for the Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher Authorization.
- Complete state mandated trainings in the science of reading and numeracy instruction.
- Obtain ECCAT certification (temporary at first, progressing towards permanent certification).
- Pass the initial/yearly Bus Training offered by the transportation department.
Employment Term:
Normal contract: 200 days
Salary:
Salary based on experience and education level per MCS BOE salary schedule located at Mingo Schools website.
Pay Grade: E
Salary Range: $28,920.00 to $42,120.00
