200 Day Contract. Salary based on experience and education level per NCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

Exempt

CTE Classroom teacher means a professional educator who has a direct instructional or counseling relationship with students and who spends the majority of his or her time in this capacity.

Applicants must meet or be eligible to meet the requirements for West Virginia Department of Education Career Technical Education (CTE) certification in Welding, including:

• Eligibility for or possession of a West Virginia CTE Certificate with Endorsement 7052 – Advanced Manufacturing (Welding).
• Possession of one of the following industry qualifications:
  • American Welding Society (AWS) certifications in SMAW Plate and GMAW Plate welding in the 2G, 3G, and 4G positions, or
  • A West Virginia Department of Education approved welding certificate.
• Verification of a minimum of two (2) years of relevant welding industry experience.
• Ability to satisfy all West Virginia Department of Education certification requirements, including completion of an approved educator preparation program and required instructional assessment if not already certified.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate
• Perform duties as described in the job description below.

• Previous teaching, training, supervisory, or apprenticeship experience in the welding industry.
• Experience working with secondary Career and Technical Education students.
• Knowledge of AWS standards, welding safety procedures, metallurgy, fabrication, blueprint reading, and industry-recognized welding processes.

• Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of WV Content Standards and Objectives, district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required;
• Uses 21stCentury Technology skills to strengthen the teaching/learning process;
• Delivers rigorous instruction to all students;
• Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles;
• Presents subject matter according to guidelines established by WVDE and board policies, and administrative regulations;
• Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned;
• Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses results to support school-wide academic performance goals and instructional activities;
• Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP);
