Our client, a specialist structural steel detailing firm based in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, is seeking a motivated and technically minded Junior Tekla Modeller to join their established drawing office. Operating as part of a global engineering group, the company supports large‑scale fabrication and construction projects across the United States.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior draughtsperson or recent engineering graduate with some Tekla Structures exposure to advance their career in a fast‑paced, detail‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development of 3D Tekla models for complex structural steel projects.
- Support the preparation of fabrication drawings including general arrangements, assembly, and part drawings.
- Work closely with experienced detailers, project managers, and engineers to ensure technical accuracy.
- Learn to apply international standards (particularly AISC) used in U.S.
-based structural steelwork. - Participate in quality control processes including drawing checks and revisions.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Alternatively, practical experience in steel detailing and modelling will be considered.
- Familiarity with Tekla Structures is highly desirable (academic or workplace exposure).
- Previous experience in a detailing office or structural steel environment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical work.
- Willingness to learn and develop in a technically complex role.
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and steel fabrication processes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Work on landmark construction projects in the United States.
