BasicJob Functions:
The Caster Process Engineer provides a support role in the department s decision making related to operations and maintenance of the Caster and supporting equipment. The Engineer provides process development and technical support to optimize manufacturing processes for steel sheets, meet customer-specific requirements for new high-end quality steel sheet products, ensure manufacturing reliability, and support operations and maintenance needs. Using data integration and statistical analysis, the Process Engineer monitors and analyzes process and equipment conditions to drive maintenance, improvements, and upgrades.
The Caster Process Engineer develops and conducts technical training for the Caster Team as required for safe and effective operation to provide quality steel on time. In addition to other related duties, the Caster Process Engineer will lead process improvement and coordinate quality and cost-reduction efforts.
Nucor Steel West Virginia s greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This facility is located in Mason County, along the Ohio River near Huntington and Charleston, WV.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:- Four year degree in Engineering or a directly related field of study.
- Two years of heavy industry experience in engineering process support for Casting.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Experience with ibaPDA and iba Analyzer software.
- Technical training experience.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
