Work on high-profile U.S. structural steel projects with a globally respected engineering team. Our client, a structural steel detailing company based in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Tekla Modeller to join their established technical team. As part of a global engineering group, the business delivers detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for large-scale commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the United States.
This is a senior technical role ideal for candidates with deep experience in steel detailing using Tekla Structures who are looking to contribute to complex, high-value projects in a stable, technically focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Produce high-quality 3D models using Tekla Structures for complex structural steel projects destined for fabrication and erection in the U.S.
- Generate detailed fabrication drawings, including general arrangements, assembly, and part drawings.
- Ensure all outputs meet AISC standards and project-specific detailing requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to resolve technical issues and ensure constructability.
- Perform quality checks on your own models and drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain full drawing records and manage version control in line with project and company standards.
- HND, Degree or equivalent in Structural/Civil Engineering or a relevant technical field.
- Significant practical experience in structural steel detailing will also be considered.
- Experience working with Tekla Structures in a steel detailing environment.
- Demonstrable experience producing accurate fabrication drawings for structural steelwork.
- Familiarity with U.S. steel standards, particularly AISC, is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures (essential).
- Strong understanding of structural drawings, connection detailing, and fabrication practices.
- Experience in generating material lists (ABMs) and managing drawing revisions.
- Excellent attention to technical detail and drawing accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Methodical and organised approach to managing workload and deadlines.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, project-focused office environment.
