Robotics Technician – Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV)
Kongsberg Discovery is looking for several Robotics Technicians to join our Uncrewed Platforms division in Horten. In this role, you will work closely with advanced autonomous underwater technology and contribute to building, testing, and analyzing battery systems and critical components for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs).
You will become part of a highly skilled technical environment where you will work across the full product lifecycle – from prototyping and testing to troubleshooting, assembly, and technical analysis. This is a practical and varied role where precision, quality, and collaboration are essential.
What you will be doing- Build, test, and analyze battery systems for AUVs
- Assemble, test, and repair components and systems
- Configure software and perform final system testing
- Analyze test data and document results
- Perform technical troubleshooting and contribute to root cause analyses
- Inspect and approve parts from subcontractors
- Register documentation and transactions in ERP and test systems
- Trade certificate, technical education, engineering background, or equivalent relevant experience
- Structured and systematic working style with strong attention to quality
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of your deliveries
- Good general computer skills and experience with technical systems
- Experience with test equipment and measuring instruments is an advantage
- Experience with ERP systems (AX/Dynamics) or test systems (WATS) is beneficial
- Good communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
- Work effectively in a hands-on and multidisciplinary technical environment
- Combine practical execution with analytical thinking
- Solve technical challenges in a structured and proactive manner
- Collaborate across functions and disciplinesli>
