Position

Summary

Environmental, Health & Safety Intern provides daily site support through guidance in the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security disciplines. Supports the site Voluntary Protection Program and team EH&S inspections.

Responsibilities
  • Prepared periodic reports.
  • Work with plant personnel to collect and prepare annual air emissions (AEI) data to be reported to required agencies.
  • Provided support to ensure compliance with all RCRA requirements including Hazardous Waste storage tanks and Hazardous Waste collection compliance.
  • Participate in day to day regulator guidance.
  • Supports the line organization, plant functional teams and contractors in the field via direct involvement in routine work activities.
  • Be a visible presence in the field to promote good health and safety practices.
  • Support operations on issues related to waste management.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, schedule any required testing, and provide additional follow-up documentation as required.
Qualifications
  • Self-starter, ability to plan/organize tasks and consistently produce results with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Federal (EPA / OSHA) and State Environmental (TCEQ), Health, and Safety Regulation.
  • Demonstrated , interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead, influence, and do work across organizational boundaries, which include maintenance, operations, capital, and contractors.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to develop PowerPoint presentations.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma.
