Quality Engineer
Location: (Prichard, WV)
Compensation: $70,000-$100,000
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision
Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality, customer requirements, and continuous improvement within an automotive production environment.
What You'll Do:
- Support APQP project teams for successful product launches
- Serve as the customer liaison for quality-related concerns
- Manage customer portals, scorecards, and improvement plans
- Create and maintain control plans, inspection instructions, capability studies, and gage R&R documentation
- Manage PPAP submissions
- Lead 8D corrective action plans
- Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are met
- Apply AIAG core tools including APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, and SPC
- Support supplier quality performance and corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with QMS, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements
- Participate in audits and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication and writing abilities
- Microsoft Office and Outlook experience
- Ability to multitask and complete tasks within required timelines
- Strong attention to detail and team-focused mindset
- Reports to the Quality Manager
- Works closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain
- Interfaces with customers and suppliers on quality concerns
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs regularly
