ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Safety design modifications and improvements to equipment and facilities.
  • Safety investigations and corrective actions.
  • Develop, document, and improve preventive maintenance programs to support equipment availability and throughput.
  • Develop, document, and improve predictive maintenance programs using predictive failure techniques such as vibration analysis and thermo‑graphic imaging.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures to minimize downtime and loss of production.
  • Analyze production delay data to establish or modify preventive maintenance tasks and generate continuous improvement projects.
  • Prepare and review equipment failure/root‑cause analysis reports and evaluate corrective action items and their impact on preventive maintenance programs.
  • Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
  • Develop work orders detailing work requests required to implement improvement projects or corrective actions.
  • Follow‑up and audit to ensure proper completion.
  • Coordinate outside contractor work with maintenance or production personnel to minimize cost and production impacts.
  • Assess critical spare parts and standardize parts.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures, training, and skill development for all personnel.
  • Determine and install performance metrics that promote long‑term continuous improvement aligned with department objectives.
  • Support problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Act as fill‑in for Supervisors or Department Manager when required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with planning to prepare, coordinate, and maintain schedules for extended production outages and major maintenance work.
  • Work with maintenance supervisors and department managers to determine priorities and establish schedules.
  • Maintain information required for using the plant computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Work with maintenance craftsmen and operations to resolve equipment failures.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a technical discipline related to maintenance.
  • Formal training or experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of proven experience in a Maintenance Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor position.

  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in forging or flat‑rolled metal products.

  • Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs.
  • Expertise in a specific engineering field.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems causing equipment failures.
  • Experience in Preventive and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance and Lean Manufacturing philosophies.
  • Training in maintenance disciplines such as hydraulics, welding, machining, etc.
  • Leadership ability to achieve results through others.
  • Working knowledge of TOC/Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem analysis and resolution at both strategic and functional levels.
