Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting a growing and well‑established engineering business in the appointment of an experienced Wastewater Pump Engineer to join their Northern operations team based in York.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer with strong electrical and mechanical experience to join a business operating across critical wastewater and clean water infrastructure projects.
Working across sewage pumping stations, treatment plants and specialist pumping systems, you will play a key role in supporting installation, maintenance and reactive repair activities across the region.
RoleAs Wastewater Pump Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, installation and fault finding of a wide range of pumping equipment and associated systems.
This is a field‑based role suited to a practical engineer who enjoys varied work, problem solving and working within a fast‑paced operational environment.
Key responsibilities- Service, repair and maintain wastewater and clean water pumping systems
- Carry out electrical fault finding on pumps, motors and control systems
- Support mechanical works including pump removal, replacement and installation
- Modify and replace associated pipework and fittings
- Assist with installation and commissioning activities
Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately - Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site and company procedures
- Participate in a 1-in-4 call‑out rota providing emergency support coverage
We are keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience working within wastewater, pumping, utilities or industrial engineering environments. You will ideally have:
- A strong electrical background with fault‑finding experience
- Mechanical maintenance and installation experience
- Previous experience working on sewage pumping stations or treatment plants
- A practical, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience with in wastewater or pumping systems
