Project Engineer
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Project Engineer to lead the development of operating process plans, focusing on machining or assembling parts within the assigned department area. The role involves planning, procurement, installation, trial, and launching of engine/transmission machining or assembly lines. The successful candidate will create and maintain schedules and budgets, develop standard tools and benchmarks, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
You will visualize activity plans and schedules to secure project priorities and analyze critical manufacturing issues, communicating root causes and countermeasure plans to stakeholders.
- Develop operating process plans for machining or assembly of parts.
- Lead the planning, procurement, installation, trial, and launching of engine/transmission machining or assembly lines.
- Create and maintain schedules and budgets for assigned areas.
- Develop and improve standard tools and benchmarks.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional working groups across local facilities and corporate departments.
- Visualize activity plans and schedules to facilitate consensus building for project priorities.
- Analyze critical manufacturing issues and clearly communicate root causes and countermeasure plans to stakeholders.
- Experience in production engineering and project management within the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify designs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Experience in process engineering, including schedule and budget management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.
Skills & Qualifications
- AutoCAD experience with the ability to read, interpret, and modify.
- 3D CAD experience with the ability to read and interpret.
- Willingness to work required overtime and travel as needed, both domestically and internationally.
- Flexibility for business travel up to 20%, both domestic and international.
- Ability to work weekend and shutdown periods, such as during July and December holidays.
This is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, WV.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 – $48.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
