This role is for a technical engineer focused on cable and connector solutions. The engineer will collaborate across multiple project teams to develop next-generation server platforms while also supporting and sustaining current production products.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing the design, qualification, and consolidation of cables and connectors within the engineering organization. The role also involves owning end-to-end system cable and connector solutions, including specification development, design reviews, and qualification processes, while maximizing reuse and standardization wherever possible.
Candidates should have experience designing cable solutions and electrical connectors, particularly for applications requiring high durability, high power delivery, and high speed signal performance.
Responsibilities:- Work with Mechanical, Electrical and Signal Integrity engineers and responsible for the design, development and qualification of cable solutions in server, storage, networking and data center.
- Responsible for cable consolidation and driving leverage across platforms.
- Responsibility includes understanding the requirements (EE/ME/SI etc..) and selecting cable & connector solutions whether of-the-shelf or design in-house custom design.
- Candidate will also characterize and make appropriate adjustments for interconnect performance under electrical, environmental & mechanical stresses
- Propose system interconnect strategies and select connectors for various signals based on internal requirements and strategies.
- Knowledge of various interconnect standards and protocols. Ability to understand and analyze data from datasheets and measurements.
- Responsible in working with vendors to manage the product specification, development schedule, meet various deliverables, resolve technical issues, and ensure product meets specification, cost and quality goals.
- Responsible in guiding and directing vendors to deliver designs, implementation, monitor testing, review cost and review technical design information to provide clear direction to vendor.
Required:
Bachelor's (Undergraduate) or Master's (graduate) degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. 2~5 years of experience in cable & connector design.
Skills:- Knowledge of cable & connector technologies and related manufacturing processes.
- Experiences with cable & connector requirements and testing.
- Good root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Works independently and as part of a team.
- Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically.
- Fluency in English and local language.
- Deal with conflicts effectively.
- Ability to establish clear goals and formulate plans to achieve them.
- Excited about technology and desire to learn new tasks and technologies.
