This individual will embed on‑site alongside the General Construction Manager and serve as the primary owner's representative for the full MEP scope — from pre‑construction coordination through installation, testing, commissioning, and acceptance.
The successful candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of mission‑critical MEP systems including UPS, switch gear, generators, cooling plant, and low‑voltage infrastructure, and will be able to hold GC, MEP subcontractors, and equipment vendors accountable to the owner's standards and schedule.
- Serve as the owner's on‑site representative for all MEP scopes: electrical (medium/low voltage, switch gear, UPS, generators), mechanical (CRAC/CRAH, chilled water, cooling towers), and plumbing (domestic, process, fire suppression)
- Attend and lead MEP coordination meetings, including BIM clash detection reviews and subcontractor prefabrication planning sessions
- Review MEP submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for technical accuracy and compliance with project specifications
- Monitor MEP installation sequencing, quality, and code compliance across all active fronts
- Coordinate integration of MEP systems with IT/low‑voltage infrastructure, raised floor layouts, and structural elements
- Oversee startup and pre‑commissioning activities; work closely with the commissioning authority (CxA) and owner's CX team
- Track and drive resolution of MEP‑specific open items, punch list deficiencies, and NCRs (Non‑Conformance Reports)
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) for major equipment as required
- Provide daily and weekly MEP progress summaries to the General Construction Manager and owner‑side program team
- Assist in reviewing change proposals related to MEP scope for technical validity and owner impact
- 10+ years of MEP construction or commissioning experience, with at least 4 years in data center or mission‑critical environments
- Deep technical knowledge of critical power systems (switch gear, UPS, PDU, generators) and cooling infrastructure (chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH)
- Experience with MEP BIM coordination (Revit MEP, Navisworks) and 3D clash resolution workflows
- Ability to read and interpret complex MEP drawings, single‑line diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment submittals
- Procore experience required;
Bluebeam Revu proficiency required - OSHA 30 certification required
- Comfortable working in active construction and energized equipment environments, with strict adherence to electrical safety protocols and site PPE
- RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or equivalent credential
- PE license (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent field experience
- Familiarity with ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidelines, BICSI standards, or Uptime Institute Tier requirements
- Experience with commissioning documentation (Cx plans, test procedures, system verification reports)
MEP systems are the backbone of every data center we build — power, cooling, and life‑safety infrastructure have to work flawlessly from day one. This role is the owner's eyes and ears on the ground…
