Financial Analyst, Financial Consultant
The position is embedded in HD’s Finance team and works in close cooperation with the External Relations team. The ER team combines donor relations and fundraising with external communications functions and works to ensure that HD’s income meets the organisation’s needs.
This is more than a finance role, it’s a chance to support global programs that make a real difference, while ensuring compliance, and strategic alignment.
Under the supervision of the Finance Director, the main responsibilities (70%) of the Grant Finance Officer are:
- Prepare, compile, monitor, and report on budgets for multi-regional, multi-project donor grants
- Ensure full compliance with donor financial reporting, audit, and contractual requirement
- Act as the go-to finance contact for regional teams — guiding them through grant compliance and resolving discrepancies
- Manage Fund Cards in Business Central and maintain a central repository of financial & contractual resources
- Support internal/external audits, revenue forecasting, and KPI dashboards using HD’s BI tools
- Review donor agreements for financial feasibility and flag high-risk clauses
- Ensure IATI compliance for relevant grants
In addition, the Officer will be assisting the global finance planning and reporting function (FP&R) (30%): translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across the organization. Working closely with regional and cross-functional teams, the role will design and deliver reporting solutions that are not only accurate and efficient, but also intuitive, reliable, and tightly aligned with our strategic goals:
- Support designing & implementation of financial planning and implementation platform.
- Optimizing existing tools and platforms through automation, standardization, and better visualization.
- Building dynamic dashboards to provide finance insights to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring FP&R tools are intuitive, reliable, and strategically aligned — so decisions are data-driven and confident.
The successful candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Recognised or working towards an accounting/finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CPA or similar)
- Experience in grant financial management — ideally in the not-for-profit sector is an asset
- Strong skills in budgeting, financial monitoring, and donor reporting
- Familiarity with EU/European sovereign donors is a plus
- Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, Jet Analytics, Jet Reports, or Business Central is a bonus
- Professional fluency in English — French, Arabic, or Mandarin is an asset
