Internship Opportunity at Mercer's Wealth Team
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team s role will be based in Taiwan. The new intern candidate will have the exciting opportunity of helping to grow the Asia Pacific Actuarial Practice from the ground-up and will report to the team leader in Taiwan. The intern candidate provide end-to-end consulting and advice on defined benefit (DB) and/or defined contribution (DC) retirement plans, helping clients to support their employees' financial wellness.
The actuarial intern will be expected to contribute to a broad range of projects and will play a key role in the sourcing and delivery of projects for Mercer's clients, which include public and private pension schemes, government entities and insurance companies. This internship will last 6 months.
We will count on you to:
- Assist in actuarial/quantitative analysis projects.
- Assess costs, rates, risks, and trends in insurance and healthcare.
- Process, validate, and update data in actuarial and financial models.
- Collaborate with analysts and consultants to resolve queries.
- Contribute to special projects as needed.
- Gather, organize, and verify data accurately.
- Assist in preparing reports and making recommendations to clients.
- Research industry, regulatory, and legislative trends.
- Collaborate with teams across the Mercer Wealth business.
What you need to have:
- A graduate degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a subject with significant mathematical content.
- Knowledge of the Pensions domain is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpretational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of VBA or other programming languages is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills in English and Mandarin.
