Internship Opportunity At Mercer's Wealth Team In Taiwan

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team s role will be based in Taiwan.

The new intern candidate will have the exciting opportunity of helping to grow the Asia Pacific Actuarial Practice from the ground-up and will report to the team leader in Taiwan. The intern candidate provide end-to-end consulting and advice on defined benefit (DB) and/or defined contribution (DC) retirement plans, helping clients to support their employees' financial wellness. The actuarial intern will be expected to contribute to a broad range of projects and will play a key role in the sourcing and delivery of projects for Mercer's clients, which include public and private pension schemes, government entities and insurance companies.

This internship will last 6 months.

We will count on you to:

  • Assist in actuarial/quantitative analysis projects.
  • Assess costs, rates, risks, and trends in insurance and healthcare.
  • Process, validate, and update data in actuarial and financial models.
  • Collaborate with analysts and consultants to resolve queries.
  • Contribute to special projects as needed.
  • Gather, organize, and verify data accurately.
  • Assist in preparing reports and making recommendations to clients.
  • Research industry, regulatory, and legislative trends.
  • Collaborate with teams across the Mercer Wealth business.

What you need to have:

  • A graduate degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a subject with significant mathematical content.
  • Knowledge of the Pensions domain is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpretational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of VBA or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills in English and Mandarin.
