this recruitment is for a management analyst 1. The eligible list will be used to fill current and future vacancies in various locations and agencies across the state of nevada.
management analysts conduct studies, research, and examination of management and administrative areas such as agency operations, forms, policies and procedures, workflow, legislative analysis, management research, and statistical and informational analysis.
essential qualificationsone or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties and graduation from high school or equivalent education.
job duties- conduct research and analyze legislative implications.
- determine software application program needs or requirements.
- review and monitor contracts.
- make recommendations on policy and procedure improvements.
- provide recommendations to management regarding programs and/or work unit activities.
- prepare reports and correspondence.
- perform related duties as assigned.
- research and analysis techniques and methodologies; management and administration concepts, principles, and practices; evaluating, developing, and recommending administrative and/or operational policies and procedures.
- interpersonal and communication, both verbal and written.
- use and operation of office and job-related equipment and software.
- compose business correspondence and reports; analyze information, problems, or practices to identify relevant concerns, identify patterns, tendencies, and relationships, and formulate logical conclusions.
- health insurance: medical, dental, life, and disability insurance programs for employees and their dependents/family are offered through the public employees’ benefits program (pebp).
- vacation: accrual of three weeks of annual leave each year.
- sick leave: accrual of three weeks of sick leave each year.
- holidays: 12 paid holidays per year.
- retirement: participation in the nevada public employees retirement system (pers). Employees do not contribute to social security but will contribute to pers if their position is at 50% or more full-time equivalency. - deferred compensation: the state offers a voluntary deferred compensation program.
- no nevada state income tax.
- public service loan forgiveness: eligible due to public sector employment.
- longevity payments eligibility: employees who have received a performance rating of “standard” or better and have completed eight (8) or more years of continuous service are eligible for longevity pay.
