Responsibilities
  • Provide peer counseling to breastfeeding mothers, offering encouragement, practical advice, and emotional support based on personal experience.
  • Educate mothers on breastfeeding techniques, physiology, anatomy, and the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby.
  • Conduct group presentations and public speaking engagements to promote breastfeeding awareness within the community.
  • Assist mothers in navigating challenges such as latch issues, milk supply concerns, or other common breastfeeding hurdles.
  • Collect and analyze data related to breastfeeding rates and peer counseling outcomes to support program evaluation and improvement efforts.
  • Maintain accurate case management records, including client interactions and progress notes, and follow‑up plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, WIC staff, and community organizations to coordinate resources and ensure comprehensive support for mothers.
Requirements
  • Personal experience with breastfeeding or prior involvement in WIC programs is highly preferred.
  • Data analysis skills for tracking program metrics and outcomes; familiarity with data analytics tools is a plus.

Job Type: Part‑time

Pay:
Up to $13.12 per hour
