Overview
The Occupational Therapist is accountable for the developing, implementing, and maintaining a program to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally handicapped individuals.
Special InstructionsPart time OT to provide services for outpatients and swing bed patients. Will be performing all evaluations and re evaluations and signing off on COTA's documentation. Our facility has excellent COTA's to work with in our rehabilitation department.
ResponsibilitiesPlans rehabilitation programs which involved manual arts, practice in pr evocation, vocation, homemaking skills, daily living, sensorimotor, educational and recreational activities to assist patients in functioning or adjusting to handicaps.
Selects activity program consistent with needs and capabilities of each patient and coordinates program with other therapeutic activities.
Selects constructive activities for patients to upgrade patient to maximum independence, prepare patient for return to work, to assist in restoration of functions and aid in adjustment to disability.
Teaches patients skills and techniques required for participation in activities and evaluates patient's progress.
Suggests special equipment for patient to use in adaption to work‑living environment.
Lays out materials for patients use and cleans and repairs tools at end of session.
Conducts and participates in training programs.
May make and fit adoptive devices such as splints, braces, etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited college and licensed as an Occupational Therapist.
OR
Certified as Occupational Therapist as state required.
